The defender of the garden

I love our garden owl. My sister moves him from fence post, to fence post every day to warn off predators who might feed off our vegetables (or seeds).

Is it helping? We are feeling optimistically positive about his contribution. We haven't seen very many birds -- like crows -- around and the geese are around, but don't seem to be staying long enough to destroy anything.

If we move him at least once each day, perhaps the other birds and even bunnies won't realize he is made of molded plastic and paint.

We think of our owl as a he, though the male and female look alike. He does look like a fierce guardian sitting on the fence post like that. I guess we will believe he is doing his job unless we look out and see a crow roosting on his head.
